Garlic mint dipping sauce / Sauce l’ail à la menthe


This is a very common dipping sauce in Mauritius, typically served with deep fried snacks, stir fried noodles or even fried rice!

  • 25 ml brown vinegar
  • 40 ml water
  • 2-4 leaves mint finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 bird's eye chilli chopped
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • ½ tsp salt


  • Combine all ingredients and stir well until all the sugar and salt have dissolved.
  • Adjust seasoning to your preference (salt, sugar, chilli).


Can be stored in the fridge for up to 1 week!
