Eggless banana bread recipe


Make this sweet, moist and delicious banana bread at home for your kids. Your kids will love these yummy banana slices for afternoon tea with some cut veggies or fresh fruits accompanied with a glass of milk!

  • 300 g ripe bananas 4 medium
  • 180 g self-raising flour or 1½ cup
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • 100 g caster sugar or ½ cup
  • 110 g vegetable oil or ½ cup
  • 2 tbsp milk of your choice
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • pinch salt


  • In a large mixing bowl, mash the bananas with a potato-masher or a fork
  • Add the sugar, vegetable oil, milk and vanilla extract. Stir well with a wooden spoon or spatula until the sugar is dissolved
  • In a separate bowl, combine the self-raising flour, baking soda and salt. Mix well to combine
  • Gently fold the dry ingredients mix into the mashed banana mix. Mix well with a wooden spoon or spatula until combined
  • Transfer to your well greased baking tin / tray, then bake in a preheated oven at 180C | 360F for 40 to 45 minutes


toast on both sides and serve with a spread of butter
serve together with cut veggies or fresh fruits for afternoon tea for the children
use rice milk, soy milk or almond milk to make the recipe vegan
